Get one token operation

Returns one operation: where it has got to, and the call arguments it carries. Submission is asynchronous, so this is how a caller finds out what became of an operation.

Recovering a lock identifier

It is also how a LOCK's lockId is recovered. The value is reported in params from the 202 onwards, and a release or cancel cannot be sent without it.

State and settlement fields

state, failureCode and the settlement fields are the operation as it stood at the moment of the read, dated by updatedAt. CONFIRMED, FAILED and CANCELLED are terminal; any other state may have moved on since.
